In 2017 I started a major renovation of my apartment in central London. Climate Zone have never failed to answer an emergency call and have always carried out very prompt cost-effective repairs. Their advice has always been sound, especially when it comes to scrapping an old system for new or repairing. I have always found them a very fair-handed company always working in the client’s interest, and I would never fail to recommend their services.

I’ll be very frank: they always struck me as a strange bunch! Whenever I put a call-out, they were always there in no time, as though they were lurking behind the door, and the problem was always resolved either by repairing the systems in no time or providing emergency backup systems. I always wondered how they could be that fast and organised, but then I visited their offices one day in Berkeley Square and when I saw the speed, efficiency and knowledge of their operation – it all made sense.

I engaged Climate Zone to redesign one of our The London Ice Bar venues – the existing design and plant, which was designed and installed by Swedish engineers 10 years earlier, had become very problematic and costly to run.

Steve Davey, the Managing Director, took on board the challenge, and redesigned the whole Ice Bar refrigeration system based on the new range of Daikin Inverter driven compressor plant. He also designed the whole upper and lower restaurant areas utilising Daikin VRV air-conditioning plant, whereby he was able to build into the heat recovery design utilising the heat gains produced in the building from lights and occupants, as well as the server room’s constant heat output, which controls the whole operation. This heat (some 10kw) was utilised to heat up two 200-litre hot water cylinders serving the kitchen, ladies and gents’ wash rooms.

Furthermore, we were able to do away with the 12kw three-phase electric air curtain above the entrance door, which had to be fully open in the dead of winter, and replace it with the equivalent heat-pump fan assisted curtain. All these components were run on electric heating elements prior and costing a small fortune to run. We have experienced huge savings with the installed design and would highly recommend Climate Zone without hesitation.
